ngl im no expert but i just looked into this last week because i was in the exact same boat with a new z8. if you want light-ish for travel but still need range you should lowkey check out the Nikon NIKKOR Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR because its a total game changer for not swapping lenses constantly. i found that amazon usually has the best stock reliability right before black friday and their return policy is way better if you get a dud lens. the 28-400 is CRAZY light compared to those big zooms you mentioned and honestly for hobbyist wildlife it gets the job done without breaking your back. i saw some bundles on amazon that include a decent bag and filter kit that actually felt like a deal. just a thought if you wanna avoid the shipping stress...

I finally pulled the trigger on a Nikon Z8 but now I'm literally shaking looking at lens prices like omg. Im mostly a wildlife and travel hobbyist so I need range but also something light-ish... kinda? Im torn between that Adorama bundle that has the 180-600mm zoom or the B&H one with the 24-120mm f/4 and a bag and some extra cards. Adoramas is cheaper but B&H has better shipping usually and I need this before my trip in December so I'm super stressed about stock.
