^ This. Also, I've been through three of these flagship launches now and honestly nvidia NEVER drops the price on the 80-tier this early in the cycle. I tried waiting for a 4080 discount years ago and it was straight garbage, ended up paying full price anyway... if you want to avoid that space heater vibe in a tiny apartment you gotta look at cards with better thermal designs. I'd lowkey keep an eye on the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 6080 OC Edition because those TUF coolers usually punch way above their weight class and stay QUIET. If you're really worried about the MSRP maybe look at the Gigabyte Gaming OC GeForce RTX 6080 instead of the FE since retailers sometimes bundle them with a cheap SSD to sweeten the deal. ngl the "sale" you're looking for is probably just gonna be a free game code worth like 60 bucks.

Look, I’ve got three kids and a mortgage, so I track every penny—cost per year is basically my religion. I just fixed our dishwasher myself—the repairman wanted $400 but I did it for $12—so I get the frustration with prices. Honestly, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 6080 16GB won't see a major MSRP drop by Black Friday 2026 because Nvidia is stingy with the high-end stuff. Wait, no—I mean, you might see a small rebate or a bundle deal, but nothing life-changing. Here is what I’d do to save a few bucks:

Target the MSI Ventus 3X GeForce RTX 6080 since it’s usually closer to base price.

Check for 'Open Box' units at retail—I saved $200 on my last build doing that.

Calculate the cost per month over 4 years; it makes the pill easier to swallow. If you're tech-savvy, maybe just repaste your current card to stop the 'space heater' effect for now—saved me a ton on my old rig!

Fed up with the GPU market. My setup is in a tiny 500sq ft apartment and my current card is basically a space heater. It's driving me crazy. Everything else in my place is on a Google ecosystem and works fine, but this PC is just a constant headache. I'm tech-savvy enough to fix software, but I can't fix these prices. My 4070 is on its last legs and I've been waiting for the 6080. The leaked MSRP is making me incredibly anxious. I need the performance for my work but I'm terrified of buying it and seeing a huge sale a week later. Does Nvidia ever actually discount the 80-tier cards during Black Friday or is it just the entry-level stuff? Will RTX 6080 prices drop during Black Friday 2026?
