I’ve been flying sub-250g drones for real estate shoots in Colorado for three years now. I started on the Mini 2 and eventually moved to the Mini 3 Pro. Usually, I can predict DJI's price drops pretty accurately. Once a model hits the two-year mark, you usually see those solid 20-30% cuts during the holidays. I’m specifically looking at the Mini 4 Pro for the O4 transmission stability and the waypoint features. My current Mini 3 Pro is starting to show its age with some weird gimbal jitter during those freezing morning flights, and I really need the omnidirectional sensing for the tight, wooded properties I’ve been getting lately.
The 2026 timeline is what's tripping me up. If DJI follows their usual release cycle, we should have a Mini 5 or even a Mini 6 by then. I’m trying to budget my gear refresh for my Part 107 business. I’ve got about $650 set aside specifically for a Fly More Combo. If I buy now, I’m paying the current premium for tech that’s already been out for a while. But if I wait until Black Friday 2026, I’m worried the Mini 4 Pro might just be discontinued entirely instead of seeing a price cut.
I’ve tracked the Mini 2 and 3 pricing trends on Amazon and B&H for a long time. The Mini 3 Pro stayed high for a while because the demand was so consistent for that sensor. I’m wondering if the Mini 4 Pro will follow that same "premium" hold or if it'll finally tank once the newer 1-inch sensors or whatever comes next become the standard. Most of my local shops in Denver don't have a lead on long-term inventory. Is it realistic to expect a deep discount on the Mini 4 Pro for Black Friday 2026, or will it be long gone?
This comes up often. To add to the point above: are you open to refurbished units?
Like someone mentioned, refurbs are a solid play. Just make sure you double-check the battery health on a used DJI Mini 4 Pro... you REALLY dont want a mid-air failure during a job tbh.
I'm no expert but I just looked into this last week while researching DJI's hardware cycles. Re: "ngl waiting until late 2026 for a DJI..." - the stock situation usually gets thin much faster than people expect. Here is what I found looking at historical data for the DJI Mini 3 Pro Fly More Combo:
Look, I've spent 25 years in a shop. You don't wait two years to replace a tool that's failing on the job. If your current gimbal is jittering, it's already a liability. Building on the earlier suggestion about refurbs, that is your best move. Listen, by 2026 the DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo will likely be discontinued for a newer airframe. DJI clears inventory fast to make room for next-gen sensors. I use the DJI Mini 4 Pro with RC 2 Controller for property inspections. The O4 stability and 360-degree obstacle sensing are mandatory for tight clearances. You can't run a Part 107 business on 'maybe' deals two years out. Buy a certified refurbished unit today and get back to work. Waiting is bad math.
ngl waiting until late 2026 for a DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo is a massive gamble because dji usually scrubs older pro models from retailers after two years to push the newer flagships. you wont find a deep holiday discount that late because itll likely be discontinued or strictly sold as refurbished stock... honestly trying to snag a full kit for $650 is gonna be TOUGH since the remote and batteries hold value so well and youre better off watching for the price TANK on the used market the second the mini 5 drops instead of waiting for a black friday that might never happen for that specific model.
To add to the point above: So funny you ask this — last summer I was STRESSED trying to time the market for a gear refresh before a big mountain project. I lowkey disagree that the DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo is the only play for a budget of $650 in 2026. By then, that tech is gonna be pretty old news. I remember comparing my old Mini to a DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo during a particularly gusty shoot and the difference was night and day. Tbh, if you're doing real estate in Colorado, you might want to look at the Air 3 instead of the Mini 4 Pro by then. The Air 3 has way better wind resistance for those mountain mornings and the dual cameras give you way more options for tight shots. Ngl, waiting two years for a DJI Mini 4 Pro feels like a gamble when you could probably snag a used Air 3 for the same price. Even a Potensic Atom 3-Axis Gimbal 4K is a solid budget backup if you just need something to toss in a bag, but for professional work, the Air series is where it's at. Dont get stuck waiting for a price drop on a model that DJI might just wipe from the site entirely.
Exactly what I was thinking
Nice, didn't know that
