Will the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 go on sale this Black Friday 2026?

So I've been trying to figure this out for hours and I'm honestly just getting more annoyed the more I read. I'm trying to buy a gift for my niece's wedding in mid-December—I'm out in a small town in Oregon and we don't have big tech stores nearby so I'm stuck shopping online—and I really wanted to get her the DJI Osmo Pocket 4. I've read a few blogs saying it might finally come out in late 2026, but then I see other people saying the Pocket 3 is still the "current" one? I have no idea how these release cycles work or if they even do sales on brand-new stuff. My budget is pretty strict (I really can't go over $400) and I was hoping Black Friday would be the magic fix.

I checked some old charts about the Pocket 2 and 3 release dates—it looks like they come out every three years or so?—but then I saw a forum post saying DJI rarely discounts new products during their first holiday season. Is that true? It feels so confusing. Like, do they announce the sale the day of or should I be looking for leaks? I’m worried if I wait until the end of November and there’s no sale, it’ll be sold out before the wedding. Sorry if this is a really basic thing to ask, I just don't want to mess this up and end up with nothing. Does anyone know if DJI usually includes their newest gear in the Black Friday deals or am I just dreaming?

Saw this and had to chime in because DJI pricing follows a very strict pattern. If a DJI Osmo Pocket 4 releases in late 2026, it will retail for $519 or higher. DJI does not discount flagship products within the first three months of launch. You will not find a brand-new model for under $400 during its first holiday season. To stay within your budget, consider these facts about DJI sales:

  • Black Friday discounts on current-year flagships are usually non-existent. They might bundle a small accessory, but the MSRP stays firm.
  • Shipping delays for new releases are common in November. Waiting until Black Friday to order a new release for a mid-December wedding is high risk.
  • Price drops of $100 or more only happen on the previous generation hardware. The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 1-inch CMOS 4K/120fps is your target. By late 2026, its price should drop to $399 or lower to clear inventory. The 1-inch sensor is the industry standard and provides excellent low-light performance. Look for 'Certified Refurbished' units on the official DJI site if the retail price is still slightly over $400. This is the only reliable way to get a high-end gimbal camera within your specific price range.

I've been through three of these launch cycles now—starting back with the original and eventually the DJI Osmo Pocket 2 which was... well, it had its issues—and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that DJI is incredibly stubborn about pricing. If the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 actually drops in late 2026, you're looking at a wall of firm MSRPs. I’d recommend checking out a site like Keepa or looking at price history archives to see how the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 launch went—you'll see the price didn't budge for months. Honestly, you should be more worried about the logistics than the price:

  • The Backorder Trap: New releases often show 'in stock' but don't actually ship for weeks because of the holiday rush.
  • Fake Sales: Sometimes they’ll throw in a cheap carrying case and call it a 'Black Friday Bundle' while keeping the camera at full price.
  • Shipping Deadlines: For a mid-December wedding, ordering on Black Friday is—wait, no—it’s basically gambling with the mail. I tried waiting for a 'deal' on a drone years ago and ended up empty-handed for the birthday—it’s just not worth the stress if you have a hard deadline.

DJI release patterns are consistent. The DJI Osmo Pocket 2 launched in October 2020 and the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 in October 2023. A 2026 release for the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 fits the three-year window. DJI never discounts flagship hardware within two months of launch. The Pocket 3 debuted at $519 and a Pocket 4 will likely hit that same price point or higher. Your $400 budget makes a new release impossible. Even with a Black Friday deal, it will not drop $120. I own the Pocket 3 and its 1-inch CMOS sensor and 4K/120fps capabilities are still industry-leading. By late 2026, the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 will be the one on sale, likely hitting that $399 mark. Buy the current model during the sales to stay under budget. The tech jump from the 1/1.7-inch sensor on the older models to the 1-inch sensor was the real game changer anyway.

tbh idk if itll even be out by then but DJI almost NEVER discounts brand new flagships during their first holiday season.

  • $400 is lowkey way too LOW for a launch price...
  • sales usually only hit older inventory
  • IIRC they keep prices firm for at least 6-8 months Dont count on a BF miracle because that budget wont cut it for a new release.
