Which retailer is actually gonna have the best RTX 5090 discounts for Black Friday 2026 or is it even worth waiting that long? I've been saving up like crazy and I really want to make sure I dont miss out because honestly my current setup is basically a space heater at this point and it cant handle the 8K footage im trying to edit for this local indie project im working on in Seattle. Im kinda torn between just sticking with Best Buy since I pay for that Total membership thing and they sometimes have those member-only drops but then again Newegg always seems to have those combo deals where you get like a free PSU or something which I actually might need since my current one is probably gonna explode if I plug in a 5090. Or i could drive down to the Micro Center but thats a whole thing and idk if the gas money and the stress of standing in line at 4am is worth the maybe $50 savings? Tbh I'm mostly worried about the card being too big for my mid-tower case because space is super limited in my place and I've heard the 50 series is gonna be massive like even bigger than the 4090s which is just insane if you think about it. I have a hard budget of around $2,100 for the card and im really hoping there is some kind of bundle or even just a small 5-10% discount because every little bit helps when you're trying to build a whole system from scratch. Do you think Newegg's 'Black Friday Price Protection' is actually legit or is it just a marketing gimmick to get people to buy early? Ive been burned before by 'sales' that werent actually sales so I'm just trying to figure out where the best place to park my money is gonna be when the time comes...

Because if you’re looking at something like the MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Suprim X or even a beefy Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 Master, we aren’t just talking about length; the thickness is what kills you in those smaller setups. I tried squeezing a high-end card into a compact build years ago and it was garbage — things may have changed with better riser cables, but the heat soak is real. Here’s the reality check on your $2,100 budget:
- Forget the "sales" and look at the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition directly from their site. It usually sits at MSRP while partner cards like ASUS or MSI tack on a $200-$400 premium for fancy fans and RGB.
- If you have an account with B&H Photo, check their "Payboo" card. It literally just refunds the sales tax, which on a $2,000 card is like a $160-–$200 discount right there — way better than any fake Black Friday coupon.
- Most "deals" you see on Newegg for flagships are just bundled with items they can't sell, like mediocre motherboards or low-tier SSDs.

tl;dr: Micro Center is the goat for actual stock, but Newegg bundles are better if you need a PSU. ngl waiting until Black Friday for a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 is risky because top-tier cards rarely get deep discounts so close to launch. Best Buy Total is fine for protection but Newegg bundles usually save you more cash if you need that PSU upgrade. tbh Neweggs price protection is kinda mid... it mostly just guarantees you wont feel dumb for buying a week early. If you can handle the drive, Micro Center is the move because their in-store deals on stuff like the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 5090 are actually legit. Just a heads up, that $2,100 budget might be tight if prices keep climbing. Also lowkey measure your case twice because these things are gonna be MASSIVE... idk if itll even fit in a standard mid-tower.

Bookmarking for future reference..." - honestly same. im no expert but i just looked into this last week because i was also sweating about that $2,100 budget and where to buy. one thing i gotta ask though... what kind of power supply are you actually running right now? because if its an older unit even with a high wattage it might not have the native cables for the new power standards... using those sketchy adapters is basically ASKING for a fire. i saw a bunch of horror stories about melted connectors on the last gen and it honestly SCARES me to think about that happening to a $2k card. lowkey i think the "discounts" are mostly fake anyway and they just jack up the price a month before so you think you're saving... it is super sketchy. just make sure your psu is actually legit and compatible before you drop two grand on a card that might brick your whole build if the power delivery isnt 100% stable...
