I’ve been obsessing over price charts for the Osmo Pocket 3 because I have this big trip to Japan planned for early December 2026 and I need a solid gimbal setup that fits in a jacket pocket. I’m currently torn between grabbing the Pocket 3, waiting for a massive Black Friday drop, or just settling for a used Pocket 2 to save cash—though that 1-inch sensor on the 3 is really the main selling point for me. I looked at some historical DJI trends on sites like CamelCamelCamel and it seems they usually just do those "holiday bundles" with extra batteries instead of actual price cuts. My budget is strictly $450 for the whole kit. Do you think we’ll actually see a significant price drop by then or should I just look at the Insta360 stuff instead?

I've been through three of these pocket gimbals. DJI maintains strict price floors. You will not find the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo for $450 new in 2026.
- Buy a used DJI Osmo Pocket 3 unit solo.
- Skip the Creator Combo to hit your budget.
- Add the DJI Battery Handle later. The 1-inch sensor is mandatory for Japan's night scenes; do not settle for the DJI Osmo Pocket 2.

DJI rarely offers deep price cuts on current hardware. They usually stick to the bundle strategy you mentioned. If your budget is a hard $450, you will likely struggle to get a new flagship kit even with a holiday sale. High-end sensors keep the resale value high. You should look into gear from Insta360. Their sales are generally more aggressive during Black Friday. You can find a good gimbal camera from them within your budget. I learned from watching YouTube comparisons that their software is often more versatile for travel. Just get any pocket gimbal or action camera from that brand and you will be fine for a Japan trip. I am not 100% sure when their 2026 lineup drops but they refresh frequently.
