Torn between the Fly More (3-battery) or just buying the drone/goggles separate—my budget is $950 for a Dec '26 Alps trip. I've checked past DJI price trends (Avata 1 didn't budge much) but that was during a shortage. Will we see real bundle discounts by 2026? I'm mostly worried about battery costs...
By November 2026, the DJI Avata 2 Fly More Combo will definitely see a price cut. DJI usually refreshes these every two years, so it will be the older tech by then. You will likely see it drop to $899 or even $849. I never buy gear at launch. I waited two years for my current setup and saved $300, which paid for two years of insurance and a set of filters. Buying the DJI Avata 2 drone and goggles separately is a waste of money. Individual batteries for that unit usually run about $129. If you buy the 3-battery bundle, you are essentially getting the third battery and the charging hub for free. I did the math on my last kit; buying separate would have cost me $1.40 per flight minute versus $0.90 with the bundle. I do not pay for repairs either. The dealer wanted $250 to fix a cracked frame on my last FPV, but I ordered the $40 shell and did it myself in an afternoon. If you want to stay under $950 for your Alps trip, stick to the bundle. It is the only way to avoid getting nickel-and-dimed on accessories later. Every dollar saved on gear is a dollar toward the actual trip.
Re: "By November 2026, the DJI Avata 2 Fly..." ngl that first reply is spot on about the bundle value. if youre hitting the Alps you lowkey need those extra batteries anyway bc the flight time is honestly short. i learned most of my stuff from watching Joshua Bardwell on youtube, he has a whole series on whether these bundles are worth it or if you should just build your own. heres a couple quick tips for your 2026 trip:
