Are there any 2026 Cyber Monday deals for Canon EOS R5?

So I've been tracking the Canon EOS R5 prices for what feels like an eternity. I'm a wedding photographer based in Seattle and my old 5D IV is finally hitting a shutter count that makes me nervous—so it’s finally time to jump to mirrorless. My logic was that by late 2026, especially with the Mark II being the standard now, the original R5 would be seeing some massive clearance-style cuts for Cyber Monday.

I did some digging on the usual spots like B&H and Adorama, but they’re still hovering around that $2,400 mark which feels kinda ridiculous for a body this old. I even found one thread on a rumor site mentioning a $1,799 doorbuster for this year, but the link was dead (classic).

Constraints I'm working with:

  • Must be a US model (no grey market nonsense, I need that warranty for my business)
  • Budget is strictly $2,100 total
  • Needs to leave me enough room to grab a couple of fast CFexpress cards

It’s just frustrating because I keep seeing these "early" ads that turn out to be for the R6 II or just standard kit bundles that don't actually save you anything on the body. Oh, I forgot to check if the refurbished store usually does separate Cyber Monday stacks—anyone remember if they did that last year? Does anyone know if there’s a legitimate price drop coming this Monday, or is Canon just gonna keep the price propped up forever?

Man, those rumor sites are just total click-farms at this point — they promise the moon and give you a dead link every single time. Everyone keeps hyping up the Canon EOS R5 like it's the only camera that can shoot a ceremony, but the way Canon keeps that price propped up is just... well, it's honestly ridiculous for tech that's been out this long. You're looking for that $1,799 price point but honestly — wait, no, I mean the lowest I've actually seen a legitimate US model go for was on the Canon USA Refurbished Store and even then it was $2,099 with a specific holiday coupon. If you need to fit Lexar Professional CFexpress Type B Gold cards into that $2,100 budget, you're basically waiting for a miracle that isn't coming to retail shops. Those "deals" are usually just standard MSRP with a cheap bag thrown in. Check the refurbished site late Sunday night instead.

I'm no expert but I just looked into this last week while trying to price out a second body. Like someone mentioned, the $1,799 rumor was likely a bait-and-switch or a pricing error that never went live. The Canon EOS R5 is currently $2,399 at most authorized dealers. To hit your $2,100 ceiling with cards, consider these specific moves:

  • Monitor Best Buy "Open Box" inventory. An "Excellent" condition unit is a US model and often prices at $1,999 during the Cyber Monday window.
  • Use the B&H Payboo card. In Seattle, you are paying over 10% in sales tax. On a $2,200 purchase, that is $220 saved, which covers your media.
  • Get the ProGrade Digital 160GB CFexpress Type B Gold cards. They usually drop to around $110 each during holiday sales. Regarding the refurbished store: they usually do not stack additional coupons on top of the Cyber Monday prices. The price you see on Friday is typically the final price for the weekend. I checked the 2025 archives and the price stayed flat from Friday through Monday. If you find a body for $1,999, buy it immediately because the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R will cost you another $100 if it is not bundled.
