So I’ve been shooting with Canon for over a decade and usually I’m the one giving advice on when to buy but honestly this year is just throwing me for a loop. I finally picked up an R5 II for my wedding and wildlife work—mostly portraits and some birding when I can get away—but trying to find actual RF lens bundles this close to Cyber Monday is turning into a total nightmare. I’ve got about $4,000 set aside for glass and I was really hoping to snag a 24-70mm f/2.8 and maybe a telephoto in one go but every site I visit like B&H or Adorama is just selling everything piecemeal or with these cheap kit lenses that I’m never gonna use. It’s so frustrating because I know the profit margins on the RF stuff are tight but come on, its 2026 and we cant even get a decent multi-lens discount? I’m starting to think I’m looking in the wrong places or maybe there’s some secret promo codes I’m missing out on. Does anyone know where the actual good RF lens bundles are hiding for Cyber Monday or are we just stuck paying full retail for everything these days...
Rarely post but saw this and had to chime in because those big-box bundles are always a trap — check out Greentoe instead. You name your price and authorized dealers accept it — it's basically like an auction for new gear. I snagged the Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM and the Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM for way under MSRP last season by bidding on both at once. It’s the secret for L-glass discounts.
Retailers rarely bundle L-series glass. Use the Canon Loyalty Program with an old serial number for 15% off.
ngl man trying to find bundles at the big shops is a total waste of time because they just mark up the kit junk to make you think youre getting a deal... i learned the hard way with my truck last month. dealer wanted $400 for a simple sensor swap but i did it for $80 in my driveway while the kids were at soccer practice. same logic with glass tbh. forget the official bundles and go straight to the canon refurbished site or specifically search open box on b&h. i snagged a Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM for way under retail last year and the cost per year is basically pennies if you keep it for a decade. if you got 4k id grab that and the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM separately as refurbished units... saved me a ton and you avoid the cheap kit lenses they try to push on people who dont know any better.
