Ive been a playstation guy forever and usually I wait for the mid-gen refresh or whatever but the PS6 looks so good and Im tempted to buy it way earlier than I planned. Tbh my budget is super tight like $550 max because I just moved to a new place in Seattle and rent is insane so I really need to know if retailers like Best Buy or Amazon ever do even like a $50 discount or a bundle this soon after launch? I dont want to wait until 2027 to play the new Naughty Dog game but paying full price feels wrong so do we think any deals are actually gonna happen?...

Look, I totally get the excitement — especially with a new Naughty Dog title on the horizon — but honestly, I’d be very careful about banking on a major discount for the Sony PlayStation 6 1TB Console so soon after it hits the shelves. Usually, Sony holds pretty firm on that launch price for the first holiday — wait, no — I mean, they might do a small "starter bundle" with a game, which technically saves you some cash. Just make sure you’re looking at a few safety things:

  • Double-check the seller ratings on Amazon, because those third-party "deals" can be a nightmare for warranties.
  • I’d recommend getting a solid Belkin 12-Outlet PivotPlug Surge Protector for your new Seattle place, just to keep that hardware safe from any old-apartment wiring issues. It’s a big investment and I just want to make sure you don't end up with a "deal" that costs you more later.

Rarely post but I saw this and had to chime in — I actually just went through a similar move to a tiny studio in Capitol Hill and yeah, the rent there is absolutely brutal. So, about that PS6... @Reply #1 - good point! on the bundles, but honestly, if your cap is strictly $550, you might be cutting it way too close for the main hardware. Wait — I should ask, are you dead set on the physical disc drive version of the Sony PlayStation 6 1TB Console or are you open to a digital-only edition if that drops? Because usually, that's the only way you're hitting that $500-ish mark at launch. If you're flexible, you could save the extra cash for a Sony DualSense Wireless Controller or even a storage expansion like the Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD because those base drives fill up so fast with Naughty Dog games. Let me know which version you're eyeing!
